DIFFERENTLY

Based in Somerset, we provide semi-independent accommodation and support for up to 3 young people in our home. Our mission is to create a safe and nurturing shared home environment for young people aged 16 to 17, ensuring they have access to the support and guidance they need, with the goal of preparing them for independent living once they turn 18.

INDEPENDENCE

We offer supported living accommodation for young people aged 16-18 years old who are leaving care or are on the edge of homelessness. We are focused on helping these young people gain independence and realise their full potential.

CONSULTATION

The opinions and feelings of young people are actively sought and applied to improve the service we offer.

As a young person you will be given regular opportunities; weekly 121 discussions, to provide feedback to and communicate with staff on all levels.
Your views and aspirations are actively sought and acted upon unless it is contrary to your best interests.
If it is not possible to fulfil a request, then we will explain and help you to understand why.

DEVELOPMENT

We will support young people to develop their emotional, intellectual, social, creative and independent living skills, as well as discovering and building on their own interests.

Whilst you can explore and make sense of your identity, staff will learn about you as an individual and your likes and interests, we will support and encourage participation in community-based activities and to promote a sense of belonging, positive self-esteem and general well-being.

SUPPORT

There is always at least one member of staff on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in our medium/high support homes.

We offer a bespoke package of 1:1 educating and planning to help manage the transition from care to independence. Targets, achievements, and reviews are planned and completed in cooperation with you, the young person.

STAFF

A high performing team of trained, experienced, and motivated staff are informed by up-to- date research and quality standards.

Staff will spend time with and engage with you to focus on building warm and nurturing relationships which contribute to the stable environment.

We strive for a pattern of changing behaviour and resilience to the challenges of life.

ACCOMODATION

We have one home in Bridgwater. The house has a modern interior, 3 good sized bedrooms with new bedding and towels, fully equipped kitchen, and bathroom with shower. There will be access to the WiFi.

Health and Safety checks are carried out daily to ensure safety and security. We wish for the accommodation to feel like ‘a home’ by encouraging you to contribute and take pride in your living space, to maintain a clean, friendly and enjoyable environment.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

We aim to create a fair community that promotes social inclusion, equality and respect of diversity.

We will act upon all forms of discrimination and inequality.
